Rogue Beard Beer

Posted in : Food

(added 18 days ago)

The folks over at Rogue are no strangers to off the wall brews, but their Rogue Beard Beer could take the cake for most unusual beer to ever hit the scene. Not to freak you out or anything, but yes this stuff was made from a real beard. There’s no need to worry though, as plenty of brewers have been using wild yeasts in their beers for literally hundreds of years.  So who’s beard does it come from you ask? The yeast was taken from Brewmaster John Maier’s beard, a beard that has been growing strong for the past 30 years. Don’t knock it until you try it.

Triumph Thruxton Motorcycle: Queen Elizabeth Coronation Edition

Posted in : Vehicles

(added 18 days ago)

Now here’s a motorcycle you won’t see every day in this special edition Queen Elizabeth Coronation Triumph Thruxton. To celebrate the 60th anniversary of Queen Elizabeth’s coronation, the Italian based team at Centro Modo Lodi took an already beautiful 2012 Triumph Thruxton, and transformed the 2 wheeler into a commemorative piece for her majesty. The bike retained all of the characteristics and attributes we love, but has been revamped with a few tribute pieces including the fuel tank that has been drenched in a collage of newspapers dating all the way back to the Queen’s coronation on June 2nd, 1953. What a beauty.

Unveiled just days after the brand’s CC100 Speedster Concept, this 2 door will serve as the Aston Martins’ new flagship vehicle. Well paired with the 7 speed transmission, this 575 horsepower Vantage will sprint to sixty in under 4 seconds, and will reach a top speed of 205 miles per hour. Of course the exterior has seen some nice updates as well, which include a black roof, 19 inch black alloy wheels, and much more. Expect to see this beauty land at dealers later this year.

Adastra Superyacht by John Shuttleworth Yacht Designs

Posted in : Technology, Vehicles

(added 19 days ago)

Recently completed in April of 2012, the Adastra Super Yacht is nothing short of a masterpiece. Built for Anto and Elaine Marden, the yacht was designed by Sussex-based boat designer John Shuttleworth. Measuring in at nearly 140 feet long, the yacht’s shape took into account both hydrodynamics and aerodynamics, ensuring that this thing would be built for speed while not sacrificing fuel consumption. The end result? The boat has a top speed just north of 23 knots, and thanks to the use of carbon fiber throughout, the Astrada doesn’t need to refuel but once every 4,000 nautical miles. Now on to the good stuff. As you would expect, the yacht is equipped with all of the amenities you would encounter in a 5 star hotel including luxury bathrooms, bar, full kitchen, luxury bathrooms, whirlpool, sauna, master cabin, two guest cabins for your buddies, and of course that massive deck offering panoramic views for the whole crew (up to 9 guests and 6 crew members.

August iPhone Operated Smart Lock

Posted in : Technology

(added 19 days ago)

Years ago opening your doors with a cell phone was nothing more than a pipe dream, but this year we have seen a handful of gadgets that do just that. Quite possibly the sleekest of the bunch is this newly introduced August iPhone Operated Smart Lock. Just weeks after we presented the Kevo, designer Yves Behar has unveiled his beautifully crafted August. Working much like the previously introduced gadgetry, this lock uses Bluetooh technology along with their own app and an encrypted locking technology to let you unlock your door with nothing more than a smartphone. The difference with this one versus many of the others we’ve seen is the ability to slide the anodized aluminum circle right over your existing deadbolt lock, making installation a breeze. Expect to spend about $200 on this technology. See it in action below.

Luxury Land Rover Defender by Vilner

Posted in : Vehicles

(added 19 days ago)

The Land Rover Defender has long been one of our favorite off road vehicles. Although we prefer it in its rugged, stock form, some might prefer some luxury touches. That ‘s exactly where this Luxury Land Rover Defender from Vilner comes into play nicely. The Bulgarian design team at Vilner have outfitted this mean machine with some luxurious, yet subtle upgrades. The vehicle’s aesthetics remain untouched for the most part, but the customizers have added a 600W stereo system along with two 15″ LCD screens, DVD player, ambient lighting throughout the interior cabin, LED lamps built in to the instrument panel, and of course plush leather seats. The xenon HID headlights and Vilner branding across the spare tire carrier are also nice complements to the exterior.

(added 19 days ago)

We’ve been playing video games for as long we can remember. From the old Mario Bros titles on Nintendo to the latest Call Of Duty titles on Xbox 360. As long time gamers, we can certainly say that these modernclassics turned into Nintendo gaming cartridges are one of the greatest gifts a gamer could ever receive. The team at 72 Pins came up with the concept of taking current game titles, creating 8-bit logos, and slapping them on old Nintendo cartridges. While the games don’t actually play on the NES console, the concept is executed quite flawlessly, and just being able to look at these is enough for us to be happy. There are a ton of titles from Starcraft to Halo, and many in between. Get yours from their online store.

Playing cards are something we can never get too much of, and seeing just how much we love the world of Super Mario Bros, it’s no wonder we’d be a sucker for these Super Mario Bros 8-Bit Playing Cards. While there are other Mario Bros decks out there, the 8-bit retro collection really hit home for us. BikeSpike GPS Tracker

Posted in : Technology

(added 19 days ago)

t’s always nice to see products have success through Kickstarter, and the BikeSpike GPS Tracker certainly deserved every bit of success it experienced through the crowd funding platform. Many cyclists have been in that dreadful situation when you return to an empty spot where your bike once was. In the past locating your stolen bicycle was damn near impossible, but not with BikeSpike. This little device attaches to your water bottle holder, and thanks to the built-in GPS chipset and cellular antenna, you will easily be able to locate the stolen 2 wheeler with a mobile device or computer. The unit even helps to prevent your bike from being stolen, with a bonus digital lock feature allowing you to be notified if the bike is tampered with, much like the alarm on your car. As if that wasn’t cool enough, BikeSpike also monitors performance stats like distance traveled, built in speedometer, and will notify contacts if you are involved in an accident.
